Your "Professional Headline", as LinkedIn calls it, is one of the most important parts of your profile. It's the short phrase you see below your name on your profile.
Why is this particular part of your profile so important? First of all, when people search for someone with a particular skill set, interest, etc the professional headline is the first place LinkedIn and other searches look. Secondly, when someone finds you, what is said in your headline makes the first impression that people use to decide if they want to read any further. These two qualities make the Professional Headline the top area for you to focus on profile. LinkedIn's Professional Headline is where you Express your personal brand with search engine friendly key words. Stand out from the crowd and get found more easily by using descriptive keys words rather than your job title.
How do you come up with the right words? A good place to start is the results of your 360 Reach Personal Branding Assessment or Wealth Dynamics profile.
To find your LinkedIn Professional Headline,
- Click on "Profile" at the top of the page and then "Edit Profile"
- Click the "edit" link to the right of your name.
- Type in your Professioanl Headline in the Headline section.
- Of course, save it.
